SPECIAL AUTOPSY ROOM

The special autopsy room is designed to provide an environment in which examinations can be performed in cases that might represent special infectious risks with the goal of minimizing exposure. Impervious surfaces are easy to clean and maintain. A fixed autopsy table provides downdraft exhaust ventilation. A viewing window allows authorized persons to view these examinations without risking direct exposure to infectious or other agents. One of the facility's two body coolers has a direct connection to this room, allowing appropriate cases to be isolated from the rest of the autopsy facility. A skylight provides ample natural light.
