Medical Examiner Services

Medical Examiner services are provided by Forensic Medical Management Services, PLC at two regional facilities located in Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee.

Both facilities have been accredited by the National Association of Medical Examiners. The Davidson County Medical Examiner's office in Nashville and the Shelby County Medical Examiner's office in Memphis accept cases from the vast majority of other Tennessee counties. There, it is not practical to bear the expense of purpose-built facilities and the specialized medical expertise of board certified Forensic Pathologists is not available. The Nashville facility was constructed with a state-of-the-art design and opened in July, 2001. The Shelby County Commission recently approved construction of a new facility in Memphis with construction expected to begin in 2011.
